HOW MUCH THREAD SHOULD I BUY?
Please use the following examples as a guide on how to estimate your thread consumption.

Cone Size = 5,000 meters
There are 1,000 millimeters in 1 meter
Average length of an embroidery stitch is 3 millimeters

Example #1:
Customer order = 500 jacket backs
Pattern size = 20,000 stitches
20,000 x 3mm = 60,000mm
60,000mm/1,000mm = 60m
60m x 500 = 30,000m
30,000/5,000m = approx. 6 cones

 

Example #2:
Customer order = 12 left chests
Pattern size = 5,000 stitches
5,000 x 3mm = 15,000mm
15,000mm/1,000mm = 15m
15m x 12 =180m
180m/5,000m = approx .036 cones

 


Confused yet? Let's simplify just a little bit.
5,000m cone = approx 1,250,000 3mm stitches
1,000m cone = approx 250,000 3mm stitches
