[How to
use your Peggy's Stitch Eraser]
|
You will be clipping the bobbin thread to release the top stitches. 1. Use a quality medium cutaway backing to help protect the garment during stitch removal. 2. Turn the embroidery over so that you are looking at the bobbin side of the embroidery. 3. Support the embroidery on a flat, hard surface, like a tabletop. You need to take care that the fabric doesn't enter the blades or you will cut the garment. 4. Hold the Stitch Eraser with the blades at a 90 degree angle to the tabletop. 5. Move the Stitch Eraser back and forth to clip the bobbin threads. 6. Turn the embroidery to the right side and remove as much of the top stitching as you can. A piece of packing tape works well. 7. Repeat until most of the stitches are removed.
NOTE: Some designs have areas where the top thread completely surrounds the bobbin thread...often in corners and small lettering. These are difficult stitches to remove by any means. The clipper will eventually work through, but you will need to be patient and careful not to damage the garment's fabric. Some short stitches may become entangled with the fabric and are best removed by hand.
